People have asked, how did Hidden Promises come about?

So, here’s the story… 

​

In June of 2022 I was talking with some friends at a graduation party about how some churches today seem to have moved away from teaching "Sunday School".

​

We agreed that the service formats of churches today have the benefit of allowing time for praise and worship and other ministry opportunities. However, there seems to be less of a focus on laying a foundation of scripture into the hearts of people. This is widely noticeable among today's younger generations. 

​

A friend of mine made this statement, “There’s got to be a better way to teach God’s word to our young people!”

​

Later that same night, about 3:00 AM, I woke up thinking about Psalms 119:11, “Your word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against You.”  With the earlier conversation and this passage of scripture in mind, I turned to Psalms 119. Verse 11 is actually the answer to a question asked in verse 9, “How can a young man keep his way pure?” Suddenly the concept of Hidden Promises popped in my head and within a few minutes HiddenPromises.org was born.
